Hundreds of Lipsticks Contaminated With Lead
April 1st, 2012According to a new report, the Food and Drug Administration reveals that the use of lead in lipstick is worse than previously reported. The recent study found up to 7.19 parts per million of lead in most of the 400 lipsticks tested—more than twice the levels reported in a previous FDA study.

Now a recent FDA study of 20 lipsticks (brands not released) detected lead levels up to four times higher than those found by a 2007 Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) review of 33 tubes.
