According to a new report, the Food and Drug Administration reveals that the use of lead in lipstick is worse than previously reported. The recent study found up to 7.19 parts per million of lead in most of the 400 lipsticks tested—more than twice the levels reported in a previous FDA study.

You’ve likely heard lipstick can contain lead, a neurotoxin linked to learning problems, miscarriages, and kidney damage, among other health issues.
