Researchers have discovered that consuming dietary fiber-rich cocoa products positively affects bowel function. While dietary fiber has always been important as part of a healthy diet, cocoa has not been included in the western diet. Researchers found that regular consumption of cocoa products increases dietary fiber intake to recommended levels and improves bowel habits.
