It’s pretty well accepted by now that Americans are addicted to technology (smartphones and Netflix, I’m talking to you!). Here’s our addiction by the numbers:

You are not going to believe this. (OK, maybe you will.) More than 1,500 pedestrians received ER care for injuries sustained while texting or talking on cell phones in 2010. That number has more than doubled since 2005. Fort Lee, New Jersey has cracked down on texting jaywalkers after 74 car-pedestrian crashes in 2011 and three pedestrians killed in the first half of 2012.
