Spar for the Spurtle Winner

Bob’s Red Mill’s second annual Spar for the Spurtle oatmeal recipe contest has found its winner! The contest invites home cooks and professional chefs to submit a recipe and a video demonstrating their skills and expertise in their most favored oatmeal recipe. Three finalists are flown to Portland to compete in the live cookoff.

This year, Laurie Figone of Petaluma, California, took home the grand prize for the best oatmeal recipe with her Italian Pinhead Torta. Laurie won an all-expenses-paid trip to Scotland, representing Bob’s Red Mill in the nineteenth annual Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making championship October 6.
