How Much Caffeine Do You Consume?


Caffeine lurks not only in your coffee, but also in your ice cream, chocolate, and maybe even in your medicine cabinet. Here are relative amounts in a few common foods and drinks.

Drinks:
8 oz coffee 100 to 200 mg
1 oz espresso 30 to 90 mg
8 oz black tea 40 mg
8 oz oolong tea 30 mg
8 oz green tea 20 mg
8 oz white tea 15 mg
12 oz cola 35 to 45 mg
12 oz root beer 20 mg
12 oz orange soda 23 mg
8 oz hot chocolate 10 mg
8 oz chocolate milk 4 mg

Food:
1 cup coffee ice cream 60 mg
1 oz dark chocolate 20 mg
1 oz milk chocolate 6 mg

Medicine:
1 tablet NoDoz 200 mg
1 tablet Excedrin 65 mg
1 tablet Midol 32 mg
1 tablet Anacin 32 mg
