3.1 snacks per day consumed by women
2.7 snacks per day consumed by men
“Since women rely on snacking to obtain nutrients, healthier snack options are more popular with women, but again, their snack choices are also driven by taste, cravings, and indulgence, which often translates to chocolate, sweets, or crunchy snacks,” said Kim McLynn, director of PR at the NPD Group.
The NPD Group’s SnackTrack found that fresh fruit was the most common snack/convenience food in both genders, followed by chocolate, potato chips, cookies, and yogurt.
