Health Tips: Healthy? Not if You’re Binging

Test subjects ate more of foods with health claims on their labels, despite the fact that the “health foods” had just as many calories as their supposedly less-healthy counterparts, a recent study found. Principal researcher Professor Barbara Livingstone said, “This study supports what is described by many as ‘the health halo’ effect … consumers see these products as the less-guilty option and so eat more of them.”
